COVID-19 Information

Covid Contact Numbers

If your child or anyone in your household displays covid symptoms or is regularly using the LFD home asymptomatic testing kits and tests positive, please let school know immediately. During school office hours ( 8.15am to 3.45pm) this can be via phone call to the school office. Out of these hours please send an email to  admin@ahps.bfet.uk

This email is regularly checked out of office hours and any covid related emails will be responded to as soon as possible. If you send an email but  do not receive a response that day or you need to speak to us directly you can ring 07786 903608  between 7am and 9am each weekday. This number is for covid queries only.

By using the above contact details, it will help us to give parents as much notice as possible if class closures occur.

If anyone in your household has symptoms of covid, a PCR test must be booked. LFD ( home tests which take half an hour to return a result) are not accurate enough to test for covid where symptoms are present; they may show as negative but the person may still have covid. If the LFD result is positive, a PCR test will be needed as confirmation but isolation should start from  the positive LFD as it is highly likely to be correct.

LFD tests are useful for picking up cases where someone has no symptoms but does in fact have the virus ( asymptomatic cases) but can not be relied on by themselves  to give an accurate result i.e  do not use them to check is someone has covid if they have covid symptoms.
